Q4. Do I need to obtain prior authorization to use copyrighted work even in academic institutions such as universities?

In the case where you are using another person's copyrighted work without prior permission, in a face to face class with students at University, in general one of the exception rules applies and allows use, Article 35 of the Copyright Act (Reproduction, etc. in schools and other educational institutions). However, the same article cannot be applied to on-demand delivery where students can freely download online digital educational materials. In that case, please refer to Q.8.
